Sailor Moon Crystal Episode 1. Online. (first Thoughts)

So I thought about doing a Vlog on Sailor Moon Crystal.

One in which I just watched the first episode of the Original Sailor moon and then the first episode of the new one, and... I was to lazy. So instead, a terrible edited and put together Vlog... Also side note. My good camera is out of batteries.

So the second episode of the remake of sailor moon. Sailor moon crystal has reached American shores, And I am pleased over all, it did solve one of my largest problems with the show so far. and one of my problems with the original.

You see I didn't like that the opening of the new show reveals all of our scouts from the get go. It would seam however that we are going to get one scout her episode until they are all assembled. Which is nice because it fixes one of my largest problem with the original.

See in the original we had to wait until almost the last five episodes to get our entire cast. Which gave us very little time to actually get to know some of the characters.

So the "new" Sailor moon premiered in the US the other day.
I put new in quotations because it is infact a reboot of the old show.
The story for the first episode is basically the same.

Really the differences seam to be aesthetic and really just fixes to little things from the show before.

Things I feel ambivalent about.
#1: The art. Simply put I don't think the art style is any better or worse then the original. It looks crisper but at the same time they do seam to be a bit thinner. It's a style for the most part and I don't really have a preference.
#2: Hair color... So they seam to have changed the main characters mothers hair color, it was not natural in the original so its not really that noticeable.

Things I liked.
#1: The main character. Usagi seams a little less annoying. And I know its now a nostalgia thing, because I watched the Original episode right before.
#2: The love interest. (Mamoru Chiba (地場 衛 Chiba Mamoru^?, called Darien Shields) In the original english. Was to put in wildly a ASS in the original when he first shows up. In the new version he is a little.... jerkish. but its not nearly as pronounced. The initial attraction to him by our main character as also more notables.
#3: Tuxedo Mask. While he did in fact, just show up and give the heroine a moral boost like in the original, it was actually pretty clear that is was a matter of happen stance, he seamed to actually be there to do stuff on his own.
#4: The art. I know I just said that I was Ambivalent about it. But in places its VERY nice in the new version.

Things I did not like.
#1: There CGI was showing. In some places very badly....
#2: Showing characters to soon. Really one of the great things about the original was that it didn't show you the rest of the cast until they showed up in the show. Not even in the opening. In this one there all there in the opening. This is some one softened by the fact that the second character to be introduced is in school with our main character now, not just "POOF" There there with no warning. I hate transfer students as a excuse.
#3: THE OPENING!
WHERE THE HELL ARE MY SAXOPHONES!
The opening theme to the original was so damn SEXY. I mean it, some of the best Sax I have ever listened to in Anime. And what do we get in this one FUCKING ELECTRIC GUITARS!
Really I dislike almost every part of the opening.....

I like it... If it wasent for that DAMN OPENING!

So sense it's is almost impossible to find the season 3 episodes online, I figured I would help. And also ask what the hell is wrong with you Nick? Pushing one of your best shows out the door like you want rid of it. And making it hard to watch to.

So with the third season of legend of Korra coming out I thought I would sit around and rewatch the first two seasons. And before I got around to doing that, I asked myself the Question.... "Do I really want to."

I had to ask myself if I really liked the show enough to sit though it a second time.
Now to make this clear. Avatar: the last air bender is my favorite show. Period. That is counting Live action TV and all.

And I know that Korra is a very divisive show. So much so that really most people ether hate or love it.
Some at the same time.

But thinking about it.. and then watching it again. I really think my first impression was right. It's second season. That is to say that The Last Air Bender was a constant work up for me. The first season was good. DAMN good, better then most live action TV for a adult audience.   The second season was better, and the third was really the best I had seen on TV really... ever.


Both of the first two seasons of Korra kind of fitted into the over all like-o-meter of the show at about the 2nd season.  And that is really where I am at, I Enjoyed the show about as much as season two of the last air bender.



Now that I have seen the start of the third season I am so happy to see that they seam to have figured out what they are doing now.
